DOBINSONS MONOTUBE DAMPER RANGE - February 2016
Not yet a household suspension name, but homegrown and high-tech nonetheless.
Dobinsons Spring & Suspension is based in Rockhampton, but distributes throughout Australia and to many export markets. The company specialises in 4WD equipment and makes many components in its own facility
Dobinsons has released a 2016 range of MRR monotube remote reservoir shock absorbers. All are re-buildable and re-valvable, and are direct bolt-in replacement units.
These MRR shocks have 3mm wall thickness and feature larger than standard bore sizes. Each shocker has a remote oil
reservoir, triple lip oil seal, EDP surface protection and flexible, durable, natural rubber
MRRs come in 66mm shock body and 60mm bore and piston sizes for Toyota Landcruisers and Nissan Patrols. The sizes for all other popular 4WDs are 56mm shock body and 50mm bore and piston diameters.
Each shock absorber is valved specifically to suit each vehicle and provides a balance between ride, handling, comfort and load damping capacity.
Each MRR shock absorber is equipped with a 56mm-diameter external oil reservoir that increases the oil volume and aids cooling. Brackets allow for remote or 'piggy-back' mounting.
An 18mm chromed piston rod gives a good balance between strength and maximum valve-stack surface area
Dobinsons also has a large range of twin-tube, nitrogen-gas-charged shock absorbers to suit most popular 4WDs, with vehicle and load-specific valving. These twin-tube shocks feature larger bore sizes than the original shocks: up to 35mm, larger body sizes upto 60mm, increased shock length where possible, NOK muli-lip oil seals, Fuchs oil, natural rubber bushes and metal dust covers.
Additional suspension components include steering dampers, polyurethane bushes, greasable shackles and pins, U-bolts, sway bar extensions, Panhard rods and dropboxes.
